Econolibrium’s projects are designed to deliver real, measurable greenhouse gas reductions while improving energy efficiency and cost performance. When fossil fuels are burned, they produce water vapor and CO². A condensing heat exchanger cools the exhaust flue gas to below 55C(131F), causing the water vapor to condense and releasing about 980 Btu of latent heat per pound of water, which can be reused for preheating water.
Beyond CO² reduction, these systems act as scrubbers, removing other pollutants like NOx, and particulates from the exhaust gases. Every cubic foot of natural gas saved by recovering latent heat eliminates an equivalent amount of CO² from entering the atmosphere.
